Vision for your life

A vision is a future picture or a dream that is worth living for. You then will live your life today to fulfill that vision.

Proverbs 29:18 says
“Without progressive vision people cast off restraint” - or perish – or do not go anywhere.

Jesus is our prime example; he was clear why he came on this earth.
He was a great teacher, but he did not start “Jesus Classes”- He was a healer but did not open branches of “Healing Ashrams” everywhere.
There was a time when people wanted to forcibly make him a King- But he slipped away. Jesus was clear about his vision and purpose.
He came to seek and save that which was lost. He came to die as a ransom for many.
Nothing could distract him- He had a vision for his life.
And so when Jesus was dying on the cross he cried out saying- “It is finished” he had accomplished what he was on the earth for.

Paul too had a vision for his life .He was called to reach the gentiles. He planted Churches and travelled to strengthen the churches.
Paul too could say at the end of his life.
2Ti 4:6-7 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Someone asked Mother Theresa – “what is worse than person who is blind”
She answered “A person who has eyes but has no vision”.

You and I need to have a purpose for our existence.

Let me ask you this question - are you just living or are you pursuing something?
Do you have a desire to do something and achieve something? So that you too will be able to say – It is finished! Or I have run my race.

I want you to dream big and have a vision for your life, have a vision for your family and for your church.

Maybe
· To be able to serve God in specific ways, be a great evangelist- a teacher- serving the poor- Building God’s Church- building a project- reaching the nations
· To become a successful doctor or a pilot or politician
· To be a successful businessman earn well and be a blessing to many
· To be a top sportsperson or artist or musician

You can bring glory to God through any of these or more

Sometimes people think only in terms of existence- which I know is very important. We need to see food come on our table and each one has so many problems to handle.
But if we are without vision our life can be spent only solving our problems.
People think they will try and achieve something once the problems are over.
Problems do not get over, new ones emerge.

Let me tell you something if you set before you a vision in your heart – along the way you may solve some problems and you not solve some, but at least you will be going somewhere.

Do not let the dreams, desires and visions die in your heart- come to God and may he bring them back to life
Pursue your dream- May God bless you richly.

Thank you for this post. I think it's easy to get up in life's problems, and trivialities, and even get lazy.. but this is a reminder to never lose sight of that goal...whatever it is...
